Children and teenagers who are victims of flooding participate in recreational activities at a reception center – News of Brazil

The Government of Amapá set up a reception center at the Reinaldo Damasceno State School, in the South Zone of the city, to receive families affected by flooding during the heavy rains in Macapá, on Tuesday, 13th. In addition to offering social and health care , children and teenagers are receiving special attention, with recreational activities to alleviate the moment they face.

This Wednesday, the 14th, the State Secretariat for Sports and Leisure (Sedel) took a team of professionals, including physical education teachers and educators, to promote games and entertain the children. There are around 80 sheltered people aged 0 to 17, who participate in basketball matches, bowling games and other recreational activities to stimulate the body.

“In this action, which involves a real task force from the Government of Amapá, we seek not only to offer sporting activities, but to create an environment of support and solidarity for families affected by the rains and that together, we can make a difference in the lives of these families”, highlighted the Secretary of Sports and Leisure, Rudney Nunes.

Toys, colored pencils, sheets of paper, books and desks were also made available to welcome children who went through this sudden change in routine. The space was set up by the State Department of Education (Seed), in the school’s court.
