The governor of Amapá, Clécio Luís, is in Rio de Janeiro to present during Startup 20 and Web Summit Rio, global technology and innovation meetings, the experiences and results of sustainable economic development in Amapá and the Amazon for the largest economies on the planet that make up the G20.
At the meeting, which began on Monday night, the 15th, the governor will debate sustainability, innovation and technology, based on public policies to guarantee environmental preservation.
“Following the Startup 20 meeting, held in Amapá, which was unprecedented in the country, we were invited to come to Rio de Janeiro to show that the state has become a showcase of opportunities for sustainable business, innovation and technology for the world. And that’s what we want, to develop Amapá by generating jobs and income in an ethical and sustainable way”emphasized the governor.
The debate is a continuation of the discussions held in the first edition, which took place in February, in Macapá, and focused on issues about green development and energy transitions based on the revolutionary potential of the bioeconomy.
“No one will discuss the Amazon, the environment, sustainable development, protection, innovation and growth, without Amapá, and also the Amazon itself, in this country and in the world”highlighted Ingrid Barthdo, president of the Brazilian Startups Association (Abstartups) and organizer of the event in Brazil.
This Tuesday, 16th, governor Clécio Luís participates in the panel “Sustainable Horizons: Shaping the Future of ESG in Technology and Innovation Startups”to debate environmental, social responsibility and governance policies that involve the sector.
Amapá is one of the states in the Amazon and the country with the largest number of successful startups. The Amapá Seal company, Sorveteria Santa Helena, will be part of the program in Rio de Janeiro, presenting tradition and technology as fundamental points for sustaining an enterprise in the Amazon.
Also participating in the meeting are the secretariats of Science and Technology, Infrastructure, Planning, Housing, Communication and the Amapá Research Support Foundation. (Fapeap).
Startup20 Rio
The second meeting of Startup20, in 2024, in Brazil, is based in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and takes place until Thursday, 18th, within the Web Summit Rio, which is one of the biggest technology and innovation events in the world. world. The event is organized by the Brazilian Startups Association (Abstartups) and brings together delegations from countries that are part of the G20.
In Amapá, Startup20 brought together 19 delegations from five continents to discuss issues about green and sustainable development, energy transitions in accordance with the understanding of the revolutionary potential of the bioeconomy.
Web Summit Rio
Expected to bring together around 30 thousand participants, the second edition of the Web Summit in Brazil will take place at the Riocentro Convention Center, in Rio de Janeiro, and will have more than 600 speakers.
Considered one of the largest technology and innovation meetings in the world, the event will bring together important names ranging from politics to the technology sector. Debates will be held on 18 thematic tracks.
