More than 30 new Wrestling referees are trained in Macapá – News of Brazil

The Wrestling Arbitration course, promoted by the Government of Amapá, trains professionals, boosts development and disseminates the sport in the state. In total, 31 athletes and sports professionals participate in the activity, which continues until April 21st, at the Integrated Training and Improvement Academy (Aifa), in Macapá.
The course is organized by the State Secretariat for Sports and Leisure (Sedel). Wrestling, or wrestling, as it is known, is a martial art that uses throwing and grabbing techniques to maintain a superior position over the opponent.
One of the students on the course is Edilane Rocha, which highlights the opportunity to learn and spread the sport in Amapá. “Here, we can better understand the techniques and how competitions work in practice. Furthermore, the visibility it brings to the sport, which is increasingly famous in the state, is important, so it’s a great opportunity”says Edilane.
Carlos Amanajás, 20 years old, he has a brown belt in jiu-jitsu and also signed up for training. He believes that contact with Wrestling is a great experience, and that he intends to multiply what he is learning in training.
“By being a Wrestling referee, I intend to take this knowledge to our academy and train future athletes. Sport transforms lives and forms dynamic young people, something essential for growth”explains Amanajás.The referee of the Brazilian Wrestling Confederation, Caroline Santana, believes that the course exceeded expectations. She sees great results for the dissemination of the sport in the state.
“Bringing knowledge to Amapá is gratifying. We have already seen participants with a great future in arbitration. It’s an opportunity to spread awareness and make our sport grow here”ponders Karoline.
