This Saturday (18) the candidates competing for the title of Queen of Interdistrict 2023 were presented. The presentation event took place in the auditorium of the Municipal Coordination of Sports and Leisure (Comel).
In all, 13 candidates are participating in the competition, which will have, for the first time, the presence of a queen. According to the head of Comel, Bruno Igreja, the idea came up during the Interdistrict selections.
“It all started when we visited the districts and during the games. We talked to the girls, asked what they thought of the idea of having a queen and they liked it and we are holding, for the first time, the selective”, he said.
The next stage of the contest will be the popular vote, through the Instagram of the City Hall of Macapá, in which the five most voted will be chosen and who will compete for the title of Queen of the Interdistrict, on March 25th.
One of the contenders for the title is Wanna Jeniffer, 16 years old. She is representing the team from São Francisco do Piririm, from the district of Santa Luzia do Pacuí, and talks about how she decided to participate in the contest.
“My aunt asked me if I wanted to represent her team and I accepted. I confess that I am a little nervous, because it is the first time that I am participating and the experience has been very good”, said.
Another candidate for the title is Suziane Sena, 18 years old, who represents the São José do Jangadi team, from the Bailique district. According to her, the experience has been very good and that the contest can be a door to make her dream come true, which is to walk a parade.
“A cousin of mine asked if I would agree to represent the team and I accepted, also because he is from my community. This experience has been very good, as it helps us to lose our shyness and meet new people. I really like to walk the runway, it’s one of my dreams, and my family is rooting for me”, he said.
The winner will be awarded a sash, crown and a prize of R$ 1,000, in addition to gifts from Interdistrict sponsors.
