Women’s basketball wins bronze medal at the Brazilian School Games – News of Brazil

This Wednesday (01) was marked by another medal at the Brazilian School Games (JEB’s) 2023. This time the girls from Escola Estadual José Bonifácio, in Curiaú, won a bronze medal in basketball and closed the first block of competitions with this achievement.

“JEB’s is a very good experience and this is my second year participating. At the beginning of the competition it was very difficult, but the victory came and we are taking home a medal. Being here representing my state is really cool”said one of the medalists, Lorrana da Silva.

To date, Amapá has won 12 medals, two gold, five silver and five bronze. The podiums came in judo, karate, adapted athletics and basketball (women).

The Brazilian School Games continue with competitions until November 9th, in Brasília, and Amapá still has a chance of obtaining more medals in individual and collective competitions. The event is a qualifier for the South American Championships, which will take place in December in Chile.
