At a packed Morumbi, Novorizontino eliminated São Paulo on penalties and went to the semi-finals of the Campeonato Paulista, this Sunday (17). In normal time, the two teams tied 1-1 and, on penalties, the interior team won 5-4.

The match had a paying audience of 55,197 people and an income of R$4 million. It was the public record in the competition, surpassing the record of São Paulo x Palmeiras with 55,030 paying.

Qualified in the semifinals, Novorizontino will join Palmeiras and Red Bull Bragantino in the fight for the title. The semifinal clashes should be defined after the match between Santos and Portuguesa, scheduled for this Sunday night, in Vila Belmiro.
