Manaus athlete José Aldo will have a farewell fight in MMA. The Brazilian will give up his retirement to honor his contract with the organization. According to Ag. Fight, he will be selected at UFC 301, in Rio de Janeiro, on May 4, against one of the bantamweight prospects, the American Jonathan Martinez.

The Brazilian has not fought MMA since August 2022, when he announced his retirement after losing to Merab Dvalishvili. José Aldo started to venture into boxing, with three appearances. There were two victories (Emmanuel Zambrano and Esteban Espíndola) and one defeat (Jeremy Stephens).

José Aldo has a fight in his contract, which must be fulfilled in Rio de Janeiro. At 37 years old, he is in the Ultimate Hall of Fame and is considered one of the greatest featherweights in history. The Brazilian has a record of 31 wins and eight losses.

Martinez has 13 fights in the UFC and won the last six. In his career, he has 19 wins and only four losses, being identified as one of the main promises in the featherweight division.
