Athlete from Amazonas emerges as one of the names of the sport in the country

The 17-year-old athlete from Amazonas, Samille Baraúna de Souza, won the North Northeast Sports Jiu-Jitsu Championship on May 27 in the youth white belt featherweight category. Representative of the Clube Sevalho, the athlete is one of the names of the Amazonian sport that emerges for national recognition.

“There were 2 fights won by submission, without conceding any points. I just have to thank everyone who is always with me, my wonderful team, my teachers and my sponsor PasseFly-Tickets and Bracelets”, said Samille who is trained by master Arnaldo Cardoso.

The sportswoman claims that she entered the sport a little over a year ago through the encouragement of her father, who is a purple belt in jiu-jitsu. “There have been five championships this year and five wins. The most striking was the FAJJAM Federation’s Amazonense”, shoots the athlete.

Samille Baraúna stands out as one of the names of the sport in the country and for her, in Amazonas, she needs more visibility and support. “I do 2 workouts a day. Monday to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are 3 grueling workouts. But all of this is worth it because I dream of being recognized within this sport that I love so much”.

For the prodigy girl, sports Jiu-Jitsu in the region has a lot to grow and gain prominence in the country. With the score, Samille Baraúna is already classified for the FAJJE 2023 ranking. The North Northeast Sports Jiu-Jitsu Championship took place at the Arena Poliesportiva Arena Amadeu Teixeira.
