Manaus (AM) – The Renné Monteiro Gymnasium will host this Saturday (6th), starting at 3pm, the Laércio Miranda Adult Handball Cup. The event has the support of the Government of Amazonas, bringing together 13 teams in search of the best positions on the podium and points in the state ranking of the sport.

“Handball in Amazonas is constantly on the rise, and these state competitions are extremely important for the growth of these athletes”, commented the Secretary of State for Sports and Leisure (Sedel), Jorge Oliveira.

The championship opens the 2024 game calendar of the Amazonas Handball League (Liham) and serves as preparation for national competitions. The event will be played in the adult category, in men’s and women’s suits, among the teams are: Atlético Rio Negro Clube, Liga de Santa Etelvina, Associação Esportiva Handebol Zezão and Mauazinho Handebol Clube.

“This competition serves as preparation for the squads, especially for those who intend to participate in national competitions. It is important for coaches to evaluate their teams and qualify players”, commented Liham president, Auricélio Andrade.

Organized by Liham, the Laércio Miranda Cup has free entry to the Renné Monteiro Gymnasium.

On Sunday (7), starting at 8 am, the Carlos Zamith Stadium will host the 6th AMFM Table Football Cup, dice modality. Organized by the Amazonas Table Football Federation (Fefmam), the event aims to prepare participating football players for national competitions.

Futsal

At Ginásio Renné Monteiro, the Amazonense Futsal Championship for Under-7, Under-9, Under-11, Under-13 and Under 15 will take place this Saturday and Sunday (06 and 07/04), starting at 8am.

Jiu Jitsu

At Arena Amadeu Teixeira, the 2024 Amazonense Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship will take place this Saturday and Sunday (06 and 07/04), starting at 9am. The competition aims to qualify athletes for national stages and the duels will be in the junior and children categories. , juvenile, adult and master.

Soccer

At Arena da Amazônia, on Sunday (7), at 6pm, Manaus FC and Parintins will face each other in the final of the return of the 2024 Amazonense Football Championship.

JUB’s

Valid for a place in the national stage of the 2024 Brazilian University Games (JUB’s), the Vila Olímpica will host futsal team competitions this Saturday and Sunday (06 and 07/04), starting at 1:30 p.m.
