Brazilian gymnast Rebeca Andrade won, this Saturday (7), the gold medal at the Gymnastics World Championship in vault. The Brazilian, current Olympic champion, beat the American Simone Biles, who took silver.
Rebeca’s score was 14.750, while Biles received 14.549. Korean Yeo Seojeong came in third place, with 14.416. The Brazilian was the last to perform and had an impressive performance.
Rebeca, two-time world diving champion, is the first Brazilian in history to win three medals in a single World Championship. Last Friday (6), she received a silver medal in the individual all-around, and on Thursday, she also won silver in the World Team Championships.
There are still chances of more medals, as the gymnast will also compete in the floor final this Sunday (7), as will Brazilian Flávia Saraiva, who came 15th in the overall individual position. Simone Biles will also be in contention.
