Partnership between City Hall and TJAP encourages the practice of sports in Macapá – News of Brazil

Aiming to promote sports practice and value the work carried out through the Glicerão social project, Macapá City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Sports and Leisure (Semel), received this Tuesday (28), partial delivery of sports material, by through donations from the Amapá Court of Justice (TJAP).
For Semel’s secretary, Bruno Igreja, the initiative demonstrates the importance of management work in sport and leisure. “It’s a partnership to promote sport in Macapá. I just have to thank you for these significant donations made by TJAP, as they will help us start Escolinha do Glicerão. Joining forces is fundamental to the success of everyone, especially young people”, Bruno said.
More than a thousand items began to be donated to the municipality, which will serve children and teenagers aged 8 to 18 in football, Judo, Karate, Taekwondo, Muai Tai and Jiu-Jitsu.
Bandages, punching bags, mouth guards, chest protectors, pairs of gloves, cones, futsal nets, pairs of soccer cleats, among others, were delivered.
The president of TJAP, Adão Carvalho, highlighted that the donation of sporting objects will contribute to the development of Macapa’s youth. “It is a satisfactory delivery, as it is a way to keep children, adolescents and young people away from idleness, in addition to helping to form and encourage values”stated the magistrate.
Semel will start the Glicerão project in the first half of 2024. The activities will include more than 30 small schools in sports and parasports.
