The Brazilian Women’s Football Championship is back, after an interruption of almost two weeks for games between national teams. Two matches opened the fifth round of the competition this Friday (12). Highlight the black and white classic, between Santos and Corinthians, in Vila Belmiro, with the team from the capital of São Paulo winning 3-1.

The Brabas, as the Corinthians players are also known, achieved their fifth victory in five matches, leading the competition with 15 points. Santos, with five points, appears in tenth place, but could end the round in the relegation zone, depending on the other results.

The match in Santos marked the return of Kleiton Lima under the command of the Vila Sirens. He left the club in September last year, following allegations, presented in anonymous letters, that he had committed moral and sexual harassment. Reappointed to his position, the technician denied the accusations and revealed that he had requested the opening of an investigation to investigate the authorship of the letters, claiming to be a victim of slander and defamation.

The Santos women’s football coordinator, Thais Picarte, said that Peixe carried out an internal investigation and that the arguments against Kleiton were “fragile”.
