Manaus (AM) — With an eye on the formation of Team Amazonas that will go to the Brazilian School Games (JEBs 2024), the Amazon School Sports Federation (FADE), through the Federation Support Program (PAF/CBDE), is holding this weekend, 13 and April 14, the state trials for judo and 3×3 basketball.

The champions will guarantee a place in the 2024 Men’s and Women’s U18 JEBs, with the right to travel, accommodation and food covered by the Brazilian Confederation of School Sports (CBDE).

Judo

With 46 registered, the state judo selection takes place this Saturday, April 13, with the fights starting at 9 am, at the Vila Olímpica de Manaus dojo. The event is only for judokas in the Under-18 class, with requirements for those graduating from the orange belt (male and female).

In total, the competition organized by FADE, in partnership with the Judo Federation of Amazonas (Fejama), will have 16 weight categories, eight of which are Women’s (- 40kg, – 44kg, – 48kg, -52 kg, – 57kg, – 63kg , – 70kg and + 70kg) and eight for Men (-50 kg, – 55 kg, – 60 kg, – 66kg, – 73 kg, – 81 kg, – 90 kg and + 90 kg). The extra official weigh-in takes place from 7am to 8am and the official weigh-in takes place from 8am to 8:50am.

3×3 basketball

Under the bottle, there were many disputes over places in the JEBs. The 3×3 state basketball tryout has 86 registered athletes, representing public and private schools. The games will take place on Sunday, April 14th, starting at 9am, at the CCA gymnasium at Dom Pedro (Food Court).
