Arrested preventively after being accused of rape against a 23-year-old woman, in a nightclub in Barcelona, in December 2022, former player Daniel Alves received R$800,000 from Neymar’s family to help in his defense, in addition to the availability of a lawyer, according to information from the UOL website.
Neymar Santos, Neymar’s father and manager, would have transferred the amount of 150 thousand euros (R$800 thousand reais) to the Spanish courts to pay a fine. The payment is called “mitigating compensation for damage caused”, and can reduce Daniel’s sentence in case of conviction.
In June 2023, the former player appointed Gustavo Xisto as his attorney, he is one of the oldest lawyers at Neymar’s father’s companies. At the same time, Dinorah Santana, his ex-wife and mother of his children, was removed from managing the former athlete’s assets.

Daniel has been detained in Barcelona since January 20, 2023, accused of raping a 23-year-old woman on December 30, 2022, when they were at the Sutton nightclub, in Spain.
According to the young woman, the defender had cornered her in a bathroom at the nightclub and forced her to rape her. Two days after the alleged crime, the woman reported it to the police.

Dinorah Santana, mother of Daniel’s two children, is in a legal fight with the former player over non-payment of child support. The amount charged is around R$13 million.
The amount charged for each child was 10,000 euros, approximately R$53,400, the former player reportedly appealed to have the amount reassessed as he “could no longer pay all of that”. According to Dinorah’s lawyers, Daniel has not regularly paid child support since 2019.
