This Friday (15) marks the beginning of the 8th edition of the Master’s World Cup, which takes place at the Arena Turíbio Guimarães, in Praça Nossa Senhora da Conceição, 3rd organized by the Single and Married Association of Bairro do Trem (ASCBT).

In total, 32 teams with players over 40 will be participating in the competition, which has the same format as the FIFA World Cup. There will be eight groups with four teams, with the top two teams moving on to the knockout stage. In addition to the games, the event coordinator will draw food baskets and gifts for those present.

Among the teams, three will be making their debut in the competition: Monaco, Zimbabwe and Azerbaijan. Teams from Turkey, Indonesia, the Czech Republic and Cuba are seeking their second World Cup title, while Haiti and Israel will be left out this year.

The grand champion will receive a prize of R$5,000 and a replica of the World Cup cup, as well as medals. The runner-up wins R42,000 and medals.
