Amazonas FC returns to the field for the 2024 Copa do Brasil soon, at 8:30 pm this Thursday (14). Once again away from home – just as it was in its debut -, the Jaguar goes to the south of the country to face Maringá-PR, in the city of the same name, at the Willie Davids stadium, in the second phase of the competition. Whoever wins advances and, in the event of a draw, the winner will be determined on penalties.

Both teams debuted with victory in the tournament. Aurinegro beat Independente-AP 1-0, with a goal from Rubens, at the Zerão stadium, in Macapá (AP). The Paraná team beat América-MG, at home, 2-0. This Thursday’s duel will be the first between the two teams in history, broadcast live and with images on Amazon Prime.

In their respective states, both Amazonas and Maringá are experiencing good times. The Jaguar won the first round of the Amazonense and has taken advantage of the second to rotate the squad and save for the knockout competitions. Dogão is in the semi-final of Paranaense and begins its fight for a place in the final over the weekend, against Coritiba.

For this match, coach Luizinho Vieira will not be able to count on right-back Ezequiel (injured) and midfielders Wendell and Jorge Jiménez (both suspended). Recovered from injury, midfielder PH is once again available to the Aurinegro commander, as is goalkeeper Marcão, who returns after fulfilling automatic duty.
