More than 100 cyclists will cycle through the streets of Manaus, in honor of women, on Friday night (8)

Manaus (AM) – In celebration of International Women’s Day, the social project Pedala Livre is holding a special cycling tour on Friday night (8). With blue and pink balloons adorning the bikes, more than 100 cyclists will come together in an act of celebration and recognition of female strength.

The meeting point will be at Rua Rafael Assayag, 82 – Alvorada 1, close to Feira Coberta, with gathering at 7pm and scheduled departure at 8pm. For those who do not own a bicycle, the project offers 108 units for reservation on the website pedalalivre.com. When booking, you must provide your name, telephone number and date of birth. For more information, interested parties can contact us via WhatsApp (92) 99183-6847.

The tour will cover the main streets of the neighborhoods in the Center-West region of Manaus, providing a moment of celebration and unity among participants. The initiative also aims to promote physical exercise and the use of bicycles as a sustainable means of transport.

Social inclusion

Coordinated by businessman Fernando Barroso, the Pedala Livre project offers social activities through sport. Every Tuesday and Friday, the project provides bicycles for the Alvorada neighborhood, with a 12km route. The roots of cycling activities in the Alvorada neighborhood go back to the 1970s, when they began with Seu Galego and Dona Olga, parents of Fernando Barroso, in the old Cidade das Palhas.

International Women’s Day is an important date to celebrate female achievements and promote gender equality. The Pedala Livre cycling tour is a way to honor all women and encourage female participation in different social activities.
