After unanimous decision by the Superior Court of Sports Justice for Football (STJD), in a session held on Thursday (7), the Amapaense Football Federation (FAF) issued a note announcing the reinstatement of the Santos soccer club to the Amapaense Football Championship 2024, competition started and with three of the eight classification rounds already carried out.
Judging an appeal by Santos, which had already obtained an injunction in a monocratic decision, the Football STJD annulled the federation’s resolution 006/2024 that removed the club from the championship for having appealed to the Common Court – without exhausting resources in the Sports Court – trying to annul the election of FAF directors held two years ago.
“With the reintegration of Santos into the competition, the FAF will readjust the table so that its games can be played and adopt all possible and necessary measures so that the championship takes place within and in accordance with the decision of that Superior Court of Sports Justice”says an excerpt from the entity’s note.
In addition to determining that Santos Futebol Clube competes in Amapazão 2024, the Superior Court of Sports Justice nullified the result of the general assembly, held on March 6, which suspended the association for three years.
The Full Court of the Superior Court also summoned the Prosecutor’s Office to evaluate a possible violation of article 223 of the CBJD by the FAF, which involves failing to comply with or delaying compliance with a decision, resolution, sports disciplinary transaction or determination of the Sports Court. General non-compliance with a fine of R$100.00 to R$100 thousand.
