Government guarantees participation of Amapá athletes in the Brazilian Regional Judo Championship, in Teresina – News of Brazil

The Government of Amapá guarantees support with air tickets for 14 athletes from the state who will participate in the Brazilian Regional Judo Championship. The tournament takes place on April 6th and 7th in Teresina, Piauí. Among the judokas who benefited are competitors from the Under-13, Under-15, Under-18, Under-21 and Senior categories. The support is aligned with the Government Plan, which establishes incentives for athletes from Amapá to participate in high-level national and international competitions.

The judokas served are part of the Favela Vive social project, which serves children and teenagers from Macapá. “The project began its activities in 2020, with the aim of being an instrument of social inclusion for children and young people in situations of social vulnerability, and, through judo, we are changing the reality of more than 100 athletes, who are part of the action ”, details the coordinator of the initiative, Lucas Ramos.

The State Secretariat for Sports and Leisure coordinates support for athletes’ participation in tournaments as an incentive for local talents. “It is a commitment to the development of sport in the state, but it is also a recognition of the value of the athletes and their potential to represent Amapá in regional and national competitions”, detailed Sedel manager Rudney Nunes.
