The second edition of the Formula E race in São Paulo will be held this Saturday (16), on the street circuit, designed around the Anhembi Sambadrome, where the main straight of the route passes.

The global electric car category concentrates its activities on the same day, therefore, free practice, qualifying and the race will be carried out in sequence.

This year, in addition to the activities on the track, the event organizers also announced a show with DJ Bruno Martini shortly after the podium ceremony, at around 4pm (Brasília time). The start of the race is scheduled for 2:04 pm.

The cars will start taking to the track for the final tests at 7:30 am. Then, starting at 9:40 am, the starting grid will be defined.

The stage will be broadcast live on Band, BandSports and the YouTube channel of the Grande Prêmio website.

For those going to see the race at the sambadrome, the organization recommends the metro as the best alternative to get to the Anhembi sambadrome, where the stage will take place. The Portuguesa-Tietê station on Line 1-Blue is the closest to the event.

In addition, a free transport service to the track will be provided with electric buses also leaving from Portuguesa-Tietê. At the station’s turnstiles there will be promoters helping the public and directing them to Avenida Cruzeiro do Sul (towards Centro), where the transfer vehicles will be.

It is also possible to reach the place by walking from the same station, but the walk is long, around 2.1 km.

“For this year’s race, we shortened the distance from the access gate to the event. We increased the hydration stations from four to ten, with more than 30 thousand glasses of water and expanded the areas with drinks and food services”, says Guilherme Birello, organizer of the São Paulo ePrix.

His expectation is that the event can surpass last year’s audience, when 23 thousand fans were at Anhembi. According to Birello, until last Monday (11), around 19 thousand tickets had been sold for the race. The total load is 25 thousand.

As the circuit was designed on the streets and avenues surrounding Anhembi, the CET (Traffic Engineering Company) made some blockages. For those traveling by car, access will only be via Praça Campo de Bagatelle (Avenida Olavo Fontoura – Gate 2), or Rua Marechal Leitão de Carvalho (Gate 5 or 3).

Tickets for the São Paulo ePrix are on sale and can be purchased on the Eleven Tickets website.

Ticket prices range from R$300 to R$375, with half-price options. The age rating is 16 years old, and all minors must be accompanied by an adult.

The electric car category has 22 drivers and 11 teams and is in its tenth season.
