Court refuses to take down video questioning pro-abortion activist

The court refused, for the second time, to take down a video that questions data released by pro-abortion activist Debora Diniz – founder of Anis, Institute of Bioethics, Human Rights and Gender. The doctor in Anthropology requested the deletion of content published by an 18-year-old student in September, but the request was denied. She then filed an appeal to request the deletion of the content again.

The Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories (TJDFT) received the request and rejected the new request on November 8th. “I recognize that the words spoken by the defendant are harsh, aggressive, even disrespectful,” said judge Maria Ivatonia Barbosa dos Santos. However, “her considerations do not attribute to the applicant the commission of a crime, based on the agenda she defends”, she continued, citing that it is a “clash of two absolutely opposing views and proposals”.

In the video under discussion, student Giovanna Laranjeira Panichi contradicted statistics from the National Abortion Survey and pointed out the Anis Institute’s relationship with foreign NGOs in favor of the decriminalization of abortion.

The teacher did not like the content, went to court and claimed that Giovanna was suggesting the existence of a “hidden agenda” behind her professional performance. Therefore, she requested immediate deletion of the content, in addition to asking for a retraction and compensation for moral damages in the amount of R$50,000.

Student response

The young woman has not yet spoken openly about the case because the process is being carried out under judicial secrecy, but she published a new video on her social networks and in it pointed out who the financiers of abortion are in the world. She also highlighted, once again, her pro-life fight.

“Everything is very clear in relation to these organizations and foundations, as the financing of NGOs and institutions around the world is shameless and publicly exposed,” said the student.

She also stated that it is necessary to have knowledge on the subject in order to “defend defenseless babies who have nothing to do with this satanic agenda devoted to the murder of human beings around the world”.
