Coritiba standout, defender projects start of Copinha

O Coritiba begins its journey in the São Paulo Junior Football Cup this Friday (05). The team debuts against Canaã-DF at 1:15 pm, at Estádio da Rua Javari, in Group 31, looking for a victory to start the competition on the right foot.

Defender Kauê Oliveira, one of the base’s highlights, commented on his expectations for the first game and detailed the preparation carried out by Coxa to arrive in shape for the championship.

“Our training was very good, we worked hard all year to prepare well for our debut in this competition. We played high-level games over the last few weeks and we are totally ready for the Copinha”, declared the defender.

Kauê also highlighted the importance of the tournament from an individual and collective point of view and analyzed the other opponents that Coritiba faces in the group stage. In addition to Canaã-DF, the team faces Monte Azul and Juventus in the fight for a place in the next phase.

“We know how important Copinha is for everyone who is participating. For me, it is a chance to stand out individually, but the championship is also essential for the team to gain good experience and become much stronger for the other tournaments that we will compete in throughout the year”, he added.

Coritiba U20 arrives at the Copa São Paulo motivated by winning the State Championship at the end of last year. In October, Coxa defeated Londrina in the final 4-2 on aggregate and won their second consecutive Paraná title.
