Coritiba loses striker Slimani to the start of Paranaense

The attacker Slimani was called up again by the national team Algeria. This time, the call-up is for the African Cup of Nations, which starts on January 13th with the final scheduled for February 11th.

In other words, the attacker must miss the Coritiba in the first matches of the Campeonato Paranaense, which starts on January 17th. The African tournament will take place in Côte d’Ivoire, and Algeria is in Group D alongside Angola, Burkina Faso and Mauritania.

If the Algerians reach the final, Slimani could miss up to eight rounds of the State Championship, but would be available, for example, for the classic with Athletico, scheduled for February 18th, for the 10th round.

Algeria’s top scorer in history, with 47 goals in 98 games, Slimani arrived at Coritiba at the end of August and has a contract until December of next year.
