Chess players from Amapá from Under 18 compete in Sergipe – News of Brazil

After the qualifying rounds that tested the strategies, intelligence, cunning and patience of the student-athletes in the Under 18 School Chess State Selective, the boys and girls who will represent Amapá in the Under 18 Brazilian School Games (JEBs) have already been selected.

The qualifier took place at Escola Antônio João, in the capital of Amapá. Now, young people will compete at national level in the competition held by the Brazilian Confederation of School Sports, CBDE, which will take place in Aracaju, Sergipe, from May 21st to 24th.

The State School Chess Selective was held by the Amapá School Sports Federation, Fade, with support from Sedel, Seed and organized by the Amapá Chess Federation. The first two places in the male and female segments will participate in the Brazilian School Games competition:

Women’s Selective

1st Ana Karolina Moreno Miranda – Ifap (Gold)
2nd Beatriz Gomes Fernandes – Antônio Messias School (silver)
3rd Laysa Mireya Santos Pacheco – Ifap (bronze)

Men’s Selective

1st Vitor Luís de Jesus Silvério – Aquarela School (gold)
2nd Pedro Gortz de Melo – Ifap School (silver)
3rd Brayan da Costa Amoras – Ifap (bronze)
