Pelci has a total of 63 centers in Manaus and six centers in the interior of the state
Manaus (AM) – The Sports and Leisure Program in the Capital and Interior (Pelci), from the Government of Amazonas, opens doors for young people who dream of the opportunity to join a sport. The initiative is a starting point for new talents such as Jakson Gabriel Feitosa, who aspires to be a futsal player, and Maria Letícia, passionate about artistic gymnastics.
Eager to start futsal classes, Jakson Gabriel Feitosa, 14 years old, is one of the new students of the sport at the Vila Olímpica de Manaus. “I am very happy for this opportunity to join Pelci. I couldn’t afford to go to a private football school, but this chance came along. I am really looking forward to the start of training, I thank the Government of Amazonas”, said the athlete.
Mother of Maria Letícia, 7 years old, Aline Castro enrolled her daughter in artistic gymnastics. “I’m very happy to have gotten the position and happy for this opportunity that the government is giving. May my daughter be able to continue and achieve in gymnastics,” she concluded.
“Sport is the turning point in every child’s life. It is the sport that prepares our young people for a future in society, promoting healthy competition, companionship and discipline. With this, we are working to always provide the greatest number of places for new child athletes”, highlighted Jorge Oliveira, State Secretary for Sports and Leisure (Sedel).
Pelci has a total of 63 centers in Manaus and six centers in the interior of the state, which serve cities such as Codajás, Envira, Fonte Boa, Humaitá, São Gabriel da Cachoeira and Tabatinga.
