The mobilization of cyclists in a large circuit along the main highways marked the end of the campaign Yellow May in Amapá this Sunday (28). Around 250 people traveled along the BR-210, passing through the North-South Highway and ending at the Duca Serra Highway, in the West Zone of Macapá.
The teacher Natalino Lima, 47 years old, has been a cyclist for about two years and saw the event as an opportunity to practice the sport in a group, with friends. He highlights the importance of the campaign to educate society about good traffic safety practices.
“This event, with its relevance, tends to preserve life, awakening the collective conscience of society to behave better in traffic. Everyone who participated in the bike ride and the May programs are to be congratulated”said Lima.
This year, the Yellow May national campaign brings the theme “In traffic, choose life”. In Amapá, throughout the month, the State Department of Traffic (Detran-AP) it promoted several awareness-raising works both in schools, through lectures for children and adolescents, and in the streets, with educational blitzes in the capital and municipalities.
The repressive work of Dry Law Operation it also intensified traffic inspection on urban and state roads in the state.
At the end of the route, the participants had leisure programs and massage therapy, offered by professionals from the Social Service of Transport, National Service of Transport Learning (Sest-Senat).
The Yellow May 2023 campaign was coordinated by Detran-AP with the support of the Military Police of Amapá (PM-AP); Federal Highway Police (PRF-AP); Transport and Transit Company of Macapá (CTMac); Superintendence of Transport and Traffic of Santana (STTrans) It is Sest-Senat.
