Between March 7th and 10th, Arena Carioca 01, in Rio de Janeiro, hosted the Open National Selective and the Taekwondo Grand Slam. The event was attended by more than a thousand people, including athletes, coaches and sports figures.

Amapá natives Geovanna Igreja (under-11 up to 35kg) and Anna Elizabeth Portugal (cadet) won a gold medal in their categories, at the Grand Slam, and the right to be part of the Brazilian National Team of the sport and represent Brazil in the Pan Amerincano Championship, in July, in Mexico.

Athlete Valentina Braga obtained bronze in the under-14 Cadet category, and in the men’s category, Álvaro Mesquita won a silver medal in the open Selective. Athletes Abraão Portugal and Izabela Andrade participated in the competition.
