Amapaense wins gold medals at the XV Pan-American Macabeus, in Argentina – News of Brazil

Since December 27th, the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, hosted the XV Pan-American Maccabees, and an Amapá woman stood out in swimming and won two gold medals, representing Brazil. The competition continues until January 4, 2024.

Luana Carvalho from Amapá obtained a good result in the first stage of the competition and took the highest place on the podium in the 50m backstroke and 100m butterfly categories. The athlete is part of the Amapá Swimming team.

The sporting, social and cultural event brings together delegations from across the continent and some European countries to compete in different disciplines. Participation is approximately 4 thousand athletes from various countries, who will be divided between the aforementioned competition venues where the following modalities will be practiced: Basketball, Futsal, Football, Artistic Gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Golf, Handball, Hockey, Maccabi Men/women , Maccabi Race (Triathlon, running, open water), Cycling, Swimming, Netball, Paddleball, Pickleball, Softball, Tennis, Table tennis, Volleyball, Beach volleyball.

The Pan American Games are held every four years, alternating two years and two years with the World Maccabees. In the country, they were previously held in 1995 and 2007.
