Álvaro Meninéa assumes the presidency of Atlético Rio Negro, in Manaus

As of this Tuesday (5), Atlético Rio Negro Clube will be officially commanded by Álvaro Augusto Meninéa – who is the first in the line of succession of the board of directors elected in 2022. The then president of the elected ticket, Jeferson Oliveira , resigned from his position on November 23rd. The mandate was valid until March 31, 2025.
“In view of the resignation of the president elected on our ticket, I will assume the presidency of the club’s board of directors from today as provided for in Article 115 of Rio Negro’s Bylaws. Responding to an outcry from Rionegrinos, one of the main principles of my management will be administrative transparency and I begin the work by surveying everything that happened at the club”, he emphasized.
The deliberative council of Rio Negro Clube received a letter signed by Álvaro Meninéa officializing the succession of Galo’s board of directors this Tuesday. From now on, the new president will begin a thorough analysis of the administrative reality and will make a public explanation of the club’s current condition, with the aim of presenting alternatives so that the reformulation awaited by Galo fans can effectively happen.
“We want this to happen as quickly as possible. Therefore, we will spare no effort to survey the club’s financial, administrative and social situation. The purpose is to ensure that we are able to play at Barezão in 2024. It will be a change not only in players or the coaching staff, but also in an administrative organization and transparency in decisions. We will do this with management, organization and understanding of sports practice. It’s time to give space to competent people who can actually help plan the team and make Rio Negro one of the protagonists of Amazonian football once again.”
