46th Interdistrict Football Tournament: 16 teams participated in the selective in the District of Tracajatuba – News of Brazil

The stage of the 46th Interdistrict Football Tournament took place in the District of Tracajatuba, last Saturday and Sunday, the 17th and 18th. In total, 16 teams from the rural area of Macapá participated in the selection. The final will take place in the capital, in March. The event is promoted annually by Macapá City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Sports and Leisure (Semel).
7 women’s and 9 men’s teams entered the field in search of a place in the championship final. The classified men’s teams were: São Francisco do Alto and Vila do Gordo. Women: São Francisco do Alto and Tracajatua IB – PSVA.
The selective stage has already passed through the districts of: Carapanatuba, Maruanum, Fazendinha, Matapi and Santa Luzia. The next qualifying stage will take place in the district of São Joaquim on March 2nd and 3rd.
In addition to encouraging sports, the championships boost the local economy during game days and promote the appreciation of the rural area of Macapá.
Semel’s secretary, Bruno Igreja, remembers that the program will end with the final at the Complexo Esportivo Glicério Marques, in Macapá. “Athletes will participate in the final in March. The champions will receive prizes consisting of medals and a sum of money. Those classified in each selection will also be awarded prizes”, highlighted Bruno.
46th Interdistrict Tournament
It is the biggest sporting event in Macapá. There are approximately 170 teams from the 10 districts participating in the competitions.
The Interdistrict is a football tournament held with the support of the Municipal Secretariat for Mobilization and Popular Participation (Semmopp) and resources from former deputy Leda Sadala. The qualifiers are contested by teams from the capital’s districts, in men’s and women’s modalities. In this edition, teams from the districts of Carapanatuba, Fazendinha, Coração, Pedreira, Bailique, Tracajatuba, Santa Luzia, São Joaquim, Maruanum and Matapi participate. At the end of the event, the champions will receive prizes consisting of medals and a sum of money. Those classified in each selection will also be awarded prizes.
