This Friday (26) the 40-day challenge starts. The initiative is from the city of Macapá, through the Municipal Secretary of Sport and Leisure (Semel), which aims to encourage the practice of physical activities and healthy eating. The opening of the challenge will be at 6 pm, in front of the Central Market.

There will be a fit dance class, an initial weigh-in and a presentation of the project’s regulations and operation. Participants will also receive guidance on how to eat in a balanced and nutritious way.

The project consists of a competition between 20 teams, consisting of five people each, who will be monitored by physical education and nutrition professionals during the challenge period. The goal is to lose the highest percentage of body fat and gain quality of life. The team that loses the highest percentage of fat during the challenge period wins.

In addition to the health benefits, the project also offers prizes for the winning teams. The first-place team will receive medals and R$2,000; the runner-up will win medals and R$ 1,000; and the third will take medals and R$ 500. There will also be medals for participants who stand out individually in the challenge.

The “40 Day Challenge” project has the support of the Municipal Health Department (Semsa), the Municipal Culture Foundation (Fumcult) and Macapá Tourism (Macapátur).
