Federal deputy Kim Kataguiri (União-SP) is holding this Saturday (24) in Penha, east zone of São Paulo, an act of his pre-candidacy for the Mayor of São Paulo, in an event paid for with his own resources, amidst the uncertainty in the União Brasil on the municipal dispute.

The wing of the party headed by the president of the City Council, Milton Leite, is pushing for the Union to support the re-election of Ricardo Nunes (MDB), while other names, such as the secretary general, ACM Neto, and federal deputies support Kataguiri’s candidacy .

Asked who would bear the costs of this Saturday’s event, Kataguiri said it would be himself.

“The Union was unable to finance this event for bureaucratic reasons, but that does not mean it stopped supporting my pre-candidacy”, he states.

In an interview with CNN Brasil, Kataguiri said that his pre-candidacy has the support of ACM Neto, Antonio Rueda and Mendonça Filho, all from the national leadership of União Brasil.

In reaction, Leite suggested that preliminary meetings be held between him and the federal deputy to define the party’s candidate in the capital, with which Kataguiri agreed.

The parliamentarian scored 8% in the Datafolha survey published in August last year. Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) appeared ahead, with 32%. The current mayor, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), got 24%, followed in third place by Tabata Amaral (PSB, 11%).
