Many changes are scheduled for this year’s Olympics.
In addition to traditional sporting competitions, the Paris Olympic Games also intend to introduce new modalities, such as breakdance, sport climbing, skateboarding and surfing, seeking to attract a younger and more diverse audience.
Still on the changes, the decision announced last Wednesday (10) by World Athletics (WA), the international athletics organization, to award cash prizes to gold medalists at the Paris Olympic Games, was quite surprising.
This break with a 128-year-old tradition caused some consternation in the International Olympic Committee (IOC). However, athletes received the news with enthusiasm.
