Manaus (AM) – The Vila Olímpica de Manaus hosts this Saturday (9) and Sunday (10), starting at 8:30 am, the 2nd stage of the Amazon Table Tennis Championship. The competition has support from the Government of Amazonas, and should bring together more than 150 table tennis players, seeking points in the state ranking of the sport.

The tournament will be divided into two days, on Saturday, the minor categories, children, youth, U9 to U21 will compete. On Sunday, the duels for the podium are between absolute, senior, veteran and adult athletes. The event is organized by the Amazonas Table Tennis Federation (FTMA).

The activity is part of the federation’s official calendar and serves as preparation for national championships, with free entry to the Manaus Olympic Village.

“These state tournaments are extremely important for athletes. We want to see table tennis reaching greater heights and taking the state flag throughout the country”, highlighted Jorge Oliveira, Secretary of State for Sports and Leisure (Sedel).
