The Electoral Justice Corregidor, Benedito Gonçalves, released for trial one of the actions that could make former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) ineligible.
It will be up to the president of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court), Minister Alexandre de Moraes, to set the date for analysis by the plenary.
The electoral investigation action addresses a meeting promoted by Bolsonaro with ambassadors at the Palácio do Alvorada in July last year, when the then president made accusations against the electoral system without presenting evidence.
The process was initiated from a representation sent to the TSE by the PDT, the party that makes up the support base of President Lula (PT).
