TRE of Pernambuco holds an event on affirmative actions in the electoral system – 03/25/2024 – Panel

The TRE (Regional Electoral Court) of Pernambuco is holding a meeting this Monday (25) to discuss the participation of black women in politics and the role of affirmative actions in the electoral system.

The event will have the participation of minister Edilene Lôbo, the first black woman in the history of the TSE (Superior Electoral Court), and will bring together judges, lawyers, representatives of women’s organizations and civil society to discuss challenges in implementing affirmative actions to increase the participation of black women in politics.

The minister will be on the panel “Advances and Challenges of Affirmative Actions in the Electoral System”, alongside the coordinator of the TRE-PE Commission for Ethnic-Racial and Gender Equity, judge Luciana Maranhão. Also on Monday, Edilene Lôbo will participate in the Black Women in Politics seminar.
