“God’s justice has been done and the truth has come to light,” says Michelle

Commenting on the arrests of the alleged perpetrators of the murder of former councilor Marielle Franco, the former first lady, Michelle Bolsonaro (PL), said that “God’s justice has been done and the truth has come to light”. In the post made on Instagram, Michelle displays photos of the Brazão brothers, accused of being the masterminds of the crime.

This Sunday (24), the former chief of the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro, delegate Rivaldo Barbosa, federal deputy Chiquinho Brazão (União-RJ), and his brother, Domingos Brazão, who is an advisor to the Court of Accounts from Rio de Janeiro. All accused of being the perpetrators of the crime.

One of the photos shown by Michelle shows Domingos Brazão during the 2014 election campaign supporting the then candidate for re-election Dilma Rousseff (PT). For a long time, even without evidence, sectors of the left tried to associate the crime with former president Jair Bolsonaro.

The 2014 photo of Domingos Brazão went viral in January 2024 when the excerpt from the accusation was reported in which Ronnie Lessa – author of the shots that killed Marielle and Anderson Gomes – indicated Domingos as one of the masterminds.

This Monday (25), the First Panel of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) formed a majority to confirm the decision of Minister Alexandre de Moraes that ordered the arrest of the accused.

Moraes’ decision also determined the removal of delegate Giniton Lages and commissioner Marco Antônio de Barros Pinto. Both worked at the Rio Homicide Police Station at the time of the crime.
