Manaus (AM) – The third edition of the Citizen Chamber will have something new: a night program focused on the practice of gymnastics, zumba and other activities offered to the public. The action is a partnership between the Manaus City Council (CMM) and the “Mais Vida” Project, coordinated by the State Department of Social Assistance (Seas) in community centers.

The project will work on the two days of the Citizen Chamber. The event, reformulated by the president of the CMM, councilor Caio André (Podemos), takes place on September 14 and 15 with services from 8 am to 5 pm, at the Centro de Convivência Padre Pedro Vignola, in the Cidade Nova neighborhood, in the north of the capital, and Soon after, the Mais Vida project will begin, offering zumba classes, rhythms, pilates and functional activities.

According to the director of Special Projects at CMM, André Galvão, the project aims to mobilize both the public who will seek the services and the employees who will work on both days.

“After the consultations, we will begin a program of physical activities such as zumba, fit dance, gym activities, functional activities; various activities for the population and even for the employees of the partner institutions who will be at the two-day event”,

explained André Galvão.

According to the director of the Padre Pedro Vignola Family Community Center, Elizabeth Maciel, the programming for physical activities, in the case of the Mais Vida project, is the main attraction of the space, as it combines the physical and emotional aspects of visitors from all walks of life. ages.

“The activities do not only work on the physical part, but also on the emotional part, strengthening the bonds of our population, which is our main objective. We were able to do this very effectively through these projects in the community center”,

The coordinator of Mais Vida at the center, Ádria Amaral, highlights that, currently, the action has 1,400 subscribers, in an average of 45 classes of pilates, water aerobics, swimming, physiotherapy, functional, futsal, among other activities. It also reinforces the psychosocial importance of the project.

“All the campaigns that we have in parallel with the psychosocial sector are developed within our units, both workshops, lectures, awareness raising, conversation circles, so the Mais Vida project is that, it works on the social side as well as the sports side”.

Citizen Chamber

The Citizen Chamber was created by the current president of the CMM, councilor Caio André (Podemos), aiming to bring the municipal parliament closer to the city’s neighborhoods. The services are free and available through partnerships signed with bodies and entities, both public and private.

For the third edition, the councilors’ rotating offices and the Popular Tribune will be maintained to receive demands from neighborhood residents.

The two editions of the Citizen Chamber project, promoted by CMM, totaled more than 17 thousand services offered free of charge to the population of the capital.
