The governor Clécio Luís delivered this Saturday, 9th, the Forestry Exploration Authorization (Autex) for the private initiative sustainable forest management plan, in Jari’s Orangery. It is another important step in environmental conservation and economic development in the region and at the same time a government decision aimed at unlocking the timber sector in the state, which has been involved in a serious crisis for more than a decade.
The authorization is awaited with great expectation in the municipality that houses the project with an area covering 96,624.21 hectares, divided into 13 annual production units (UPA). The project’s production cycle is expected to be 13 years, with a management period of 35 years.
Responsibility for managing forestry management lies with the company Agregue Indústria, Comércio e Transporte de Madeiras – EIRELI-ME, which will conduct exploration operations in a responsible manner, following sustainable standards and practices.
The Sustainable Forest Management Plan is essential to ensure the conservation of the region’s natural resources, including biodiversity, avoiding irreversible damage to the ecosystem. The plan also enables the sustainable use of resources by dividing the area into UPAs and establishing an exploration cycle, ensuring that wood harvesting is carried out in a controlled and sustainable manner, avoiding predatory exploitation.
Development
Sustainable exploration is expected to generate 300 direct jobs and income for the local community, promoting the economic development of the region without compromising the environment. The project also contributes to reducing carbon emissions and mitigating climate change by keeping forests standing, capturing carbon from the atmosphere and reducing emissions associated with forest degradation and deforestation, this demonstrates the company’s social and environmental responsibility with the community and consumers.
Scientific Contribution
The activity developed in the area allows and facilitates research and educational actions, environmental monitoring, promoting the advancement of scientific knowledge and environmental education.
Operations are carried out in accordance with environmental regulations, ensuring the legality of operations and transparency in the management of natural resources. The long-term management cycle ensures the continuity of operations and the availability of natural resources for future generations, making the business more sustainable in the long term.

The plan contributes to the economic and social development of the region in an ecologically responsible way, promoting the sustainability of the local community.
The delivery of the volumetric AUTEX that authorized the exploration of 55,176.51 cubic meters of 14 commercial species in the Annual Production Unit-3 (UPA-3) of sustainable forest management approved by the State Secretariat for the Environment (Sema), is a significant milestone for the region, balancing the exploration of natural resources with environmental conservation and promoting sustainable development. Responsible management and long-term benefits highlight the importance of this plan for the state’s community, economy and environment.
