Alongside authorities such as the leader of the Lula government in the National Congress, senator Randolfe Rodrigues, and the Minister of Integration and Regional Development, Waldez Góes, the governor Clécio Luís this Friday (23) hosted a reception on behalf of the people of Amapá to the delegations of the most diverse nationalities that will participate from this Saturday, the 24th, in the Startup20 discussions and debates, in the Sebrae auditorium, in Macapá.
The first appointment was a press conference with local, national and foreign journalists who came to cover Startup20. Clécio said that it was a huge challenge to host an event of such magnitude, but the effort will have been compensated with the gigantic visibility that the conference is already generating. “Eighty years ago, when Amapá separated from Pará, perhaps our geographic isolation was something more serious, but not now, these distances are shortened by the ease of technology”he said.
The governor also said that it will also be an opportunity for foreign delegations, especially, to observe the different Brazils that exist, a nation with regional inequalities, economic differences, but that here lies great potential with a horizon of new possibilities.
At one point, a journalist questioned whether Amapá is prepared to host other events, such as COP30, in 2025. [que será em Belém]. “We are not prepared, but we are preparing, so that is why we made an effort to bring Startup20 here and other preparatory events for COP30, because the green brand, the culture of the Amazon, in short, all of this can allow us to connect through these technologies, after all we are in the middle of the world”he completed.
Amapá aspires to be a sub-host of the world climate conference, which will be COP30 in the Amazon.
The Startup20 event will have three intense days of meetings and business roundtables with the theme “Building a fair world and a sustainable planet”, in a partnership between the Brazilian Startup Association and the support of the Government of Amapá, Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service. Small Businesses, an initiative of the G20, an entity that brings together the 20 largest economies on the planet.
