Sisu 2024: calendar, registrations and what changes in the selection – 01/21/2024 – Education

[ad_1]

Registration for Sisu 2024 begins this Monday (22). The Unified Selection System is the Ministry of Education’s platform for Enem (National High School Examination) participants to register for higher education vacancies in public institutions.

This year, there are some changes compared to previous editions. One of them is that the selection will only take place once a year. Furthermore, there are changes to the Quota Law, which reserves 50% of vacancies for black, mixed-race, indigenous, quilombola and people with disabilities candidates who attended high school in a public school.

What is the registration period for Sisu?

Registration for the Sisu 2024 edition can be made between January 22nd and 11:59 pm on January 25th, 2024, via the website sisu.mec.gov.br.

Can anyone sign up?

Candidates who took the 2023 Enem and obtained a score higher than zero in the writing test can apply. Furthermore, educational institutions may adopt minimum grades for enrollment in their courses.

How to sign up?

Registration with Sisu is done through the federal government’s Single Login, from a gov.br account. In the system, the candidate needs to update their data and answer the questions that classify whether they can apply through the Quota Law.

Is registration free?

Yes. Registration is done exclusively online, on the single portal without charging fees.

What documents are needed to register?

When registering, it is not necessary to present documentation. To register with Sisu, the candidate simply needs to complete their login by clicking on the “Login with gov.br” button available on the Sisu page.

But educational institutions will require documentation to enroll those approved in the selection process. This list will be available at the time of registration.

Can anyone already studying at an institution participate in Sisu?

Yes, as long as you have taken the 2023 Enem and have not received a zero grade in the essay.

How many vacancies are being offered?

264,360 places will be offered in 127 educational institutions, almost half of which, 121,750, will be allocated to quota students.

What is the number of vacancies at each institution?

How to apply for second semester vacancies?

For the first time, the main gateway to public universities will only take place at the beginning of the year and will not have a second edition in June. This way, the candidate’s classification will determine whether he or she will enter the first or second semester.

How are approved candidates chosen?

The candidate is selected when the grade obtained in Enem, considering the average weights defined in each course, is among the highest for the chosen course option.

Are there changes to the Quota Law?

From now on, the classification will depend on the student’s performance in Enem 2023. This is because black, brown, indigenous, quilombola and people with disabilities candidates will compete for reserved places only if they do not initially reach the grades for broad competition. This way, at first, all candidates compete together, without selection distinctions. If a student who is part of the quota groups passes the broad competition, he or she does not use the quota and, therefore, does not occupy a place as a quota holder.

As in the previous law, the reservation of places for these groups will be proportional to the number of people self-declared in the selection state, according to the latest IBGE Census.

Where is the Sisu result published?

The Sisu result can be consulted in the candidate’s bulletin, on the Sisu page, at participating institutions and at the MEC Call Center, on telephone 0800-616161.

Can anyone who is approved for the second course option continue to apply for the first?

Yes, but it is not possible to enroll in two courses at the same time.

Can the candidate change their options?

Yes, but only until the registration deadline

How do I know if the candidate was on the waiting list?

If places remain available for the courses, the educational institution will call candidates who have expressed interest in participating in Sisu’s waiting list. The call follows the classification used for the regular call, but only considering candidates who expressed interest in the waiting list. On the waiting list, the call for candidates to enroll is up to the educational institutions themselves, so it is important that candidates follow the waiting list calls with the educational institution in which they have expressed interest.
