Minister Silvio Almeida (Human Rights) will discuss apology for the dictatorship, capacitism and hate speech in a videocast that will be launched by his ministry on Friday (14).

The program, called “Human Rights for whom?”, will have as its first interviewee Isadora Brandão, National Secretary for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights. Artists, influencers and human rights experts will be invited.

The videocast, fortnightly and lasting about 50 minutes, will be available in full on the ministry’s YouTube channel.

According to the ministry, the idea is to discuss “issues that, in general, are the result of misunderstanding or prejudice” in relation to human rights. This field includes, for example, the discourse that rights only exist “for people who have committed crimes”.

Phrases such as “a good bandit is a dead bandit”, the meaning of the acronym LGBTQIA+ and the marginalization of homeless people, will also be discussed.
