Secretary of International Relations and Foreign Trade of Amapá presents actions at Alap – News of Brazil

During the ordinary session this Tuesday (12) in the Legislative Assembly, deputy Edna Auzier (PSD) emphasized the House’s participation in the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP 28) and gave space to the Secretary of International Relations and Foreign Trade , Lucas Abrahão, to present the accounts for the period from January to November 2023. He highlighted actions such as the Export Qualification Program (PEIEX) and the presence at Expo East in the USA.

When detailing the report, Lucas Abrahão highlighted ten actions carried out during the year, with an emphasis on PEIEX. Next Thursday (14), at 7 pm, in the SENAI auditorium, PEIEX will certify 27 companies.

In September, entrepreneurs from Selo Amapá were present at Expo East, one of the main natural food fairs in the United States, in Philadelphia. The Brazilian prospective mission, coordinated by the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex Brasil), allowed companies from Amapá to deepen their knowledge of the American market and establish strategic connections.

The secretary also addressed Amapá’s participation in the Paris Chocolate Show, highlighting the state’s international promotion to attract investments, generate jobs and income, and enrich the region. Another point highlighted was the strengthening of the sustainable wood sector with the signing of an agreement with the Government of the Marche Region, in Italy, aiming to boost the development of production chains, especially the wooden furniture segment.

Abrahão detailed the attempts to install duty free or border shopping in Oiapoque, the holding of the international Expo fair and investment attractions, such as green hydrogen and the construction of the shipyard with resources from Chinese capital.

In conclusion, Lucas Abrahão highlighted the resumption of Amapá-French Guiana/Brazil-France relations, participation in COP 28 and preparation for COP 30 in Brazil, in addition to the return of transatlantic ships to Amapá. Representative Edna Auzier praised Amapá’s prominence at the COP, especially in the environmental area, but highlighted the need to advance in economic indicators, pointing out environmental obstacles that impact growth.

Edna Auzier mentioned the COP 28 agenda, with emphasis on the bioeconomy and energy transition in Amapá. The Florestal company was cited as an example of a sustainable economy, generating more than 300 jobs and exporting certified wood to more than 50 countries. The deputy concluded by stating that Amapá is an example of a sustainable economy.
