São Paulo breaks record for business openings in January – 02/08/2024 – Panel

A survey by Jucesp (Commercial Board of the State of São Paulo) shows that 24 thousand companies were incorporated in the state of São Paulo in January, with a balance of 13,886, a level 22.2% higher compared to the first month of last year. This is the best performance in the period recorded since the beginning of the historical series, in 1998.
In the capital, the balance in January of this year was 7,411, 30.2% higher than the same period in 2023, and new companies incorporated, 10,900, a number 19.8% higher than January of last year.
“This milestone achieved is attributed to a set of actions by the government of the state of São Paulo to encourage entrepreneurial activity and improve the business environment and the expectation is that these indices will improve even further”, says Jorge Lima, state secretary of Economic Development .
