The Law proposes preventive and awareness measures, reinforcing the shared responsibility between educators, parents and students

Manaus (AM) — Councilor Eduardo Alfaia, full member of the Education Committee of the Manaus City Council (COMEDU/CMM), is the author of Municipal Law N. 3,266/2024, which highlights the importance of combating dangerous games in the school environment.

By recognizing the potential risks of inappropriate play, the Law proposes preventive and awareness measures, reinforcing the shared responsibility between educators, parents and students. Eduardo Alfaia highlights the importance of promoting a healthy and protected environment for students’ academic and personal development.

The councilor expressed enthusiasm when announcing the implementation of the Municipal Law on January 4th this year, a crucial legislative initiative to ensure a safer and more conscious educational environment.

In a statement, Alfaia highlighted the priority on safety during the return to school. “The new legislation aims to raise awareness about games that can pose serious risks to the safety of students. We want to create an educational environment where prevention and awareness are as important as learning itself.”

According to the new Law, each school will form multidisciplinary teams made up of teachers, students, parents and volunteers. These teams will be responsible for promoting didactic, informative, guidance and awareness activities throughout the school year.

The campaign’s objectives include preventing, raising awareness and combating games that can lead to death, both in schools and outside of them. Furthermore, training teachers and teaching teams will be a priority.

“Education and safety go hand in hand, and the Law reinforces the essential role of the school environment in the comprehensive training of students. We are building an engaged school community, ready to promote discussions and actions that contribute to everyone’s safety.”
