“Running Day” street race takes place this Sunday (5) in Manaus

Manaus (AM) – The 6 Weeks Challenge, promoted by Formula Academia and CrossFit Ponta Negra, reaches its penultimate stage this Sunday (5), with Running Day. The start will be at 7am, at Quintas de São José do Rio Negro, on Avenida do Cetur , 3020, Tarumã. The race has a 5 km route.

In addition to the race, participants will be able to enjoy a morning of leisure, with beach tennis, entertainment for children, food trucks with different types of food and a DJ performance. The Rodrigues supermarket, a partner of the event, will offer breakfast for the athletes.

“Street racing is a growing sport in Brazil. It’s a simple activity, but it brings enormous benefits to people’s health and physical development, such as weight loss and maintenance, strengthening muscles, bones and joints, more physical energy and energy”,

says Formula coordinator José Roggero.

The Challenge has already included three stages of collective events: Insanos Day – with Indoor Cycling, Running, Cross Training, Aeroboxing and Jump; the Beach Tennis tournament; and “Murphy Day” – crossfit exercises. Now, the penultimate stage takes place. The competition lasts six weeks and the awards ceremony will take place on November 11th at the Celebration Day event. On the same day there will also be a dance class.

During the Challenge, participants practiced various group activities, competing against different teams. They also carried out daily activities, individually, according to each person’s goals. The goals can be to lose weight and gain body mass, all under the supervision of physical education professionals and a nutritionist.

Project participants underwent two bioimpedance tests (a procedure that measures body composition) and received nutritional monitoring, all to indicate the best strategies to achieve the desired results.

This is the sixth year of the Challenge and Formula Academia, in partnership with Emporium Rodrigues, will replace the amount of fat lost by participants with food. According to José Roggero, in this way, in addition to having better health, participants will be able to be motivated by solidarity and support for people.
