Rosario Central qualified for the final of the national competition by eliminating Alvirrubro

Rosario Central eliminated River Plate this Saturday night (9), in the semifinals of the Argentine Championship, in Córdoba, and qualified for the tournament’s final. In the final, coach Miguel Ángel Russo’s team will face Platense, coach Martín Palermo.

In normal time, the teams tied 0-0. In penalties, River Plate missed all four kicks: Enzo Díaz, Palavecino and Pity Martínez stopped at goalkeeper Jorge Broun, and Lanzini shot over.

For Rosario Central, Campaz made a mistake, but goals from Lovera and Malcorra were enough to put the club in the final of the Argentine Championship.

The decision will take place next weekend, with no date, time or venue yet defined.

Platense is looking for its first national first division title in history. Central, Argentine champion in 1971, 1973, 1980 and 1987, dreams of its fifth victory in the elite.
