The Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation (CBG) announced this Thursday (23) that it received confirmation from the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) that the city of Rio de Janeiro will host the 41st edition of the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championship.

The response was given nine days after Brazil formalized its request, filing the request with the FIG. In its bid to host the event, which should be held in August 2025, CBG received support from the Federal Government, through the Ministry of Sports and the General Secretariat of the Presidency.

“Over a period of 14 years we have already achieved great achievements, such as Olympic and World Cup medals of all colors. Brazil first established itself as a recognized power in Artistic Gymnastics and this same process is repeated with Rhythmic Gymnastics. But I must say that receiving the right to organize, on Brazilian soil, gives me a different emotion. It is the recognition that Brazil is strong inside the gym, but also outside it. Because it means that the FIG is giving an endorsement to our organizational and logistical capacity, to receive the best athletes in the world in the proper way, with hospitality. Today is a day of celebration, but only today. Tomorrow we’ll roll up our sleeves, because our work to organize a memorable event will be extensive and arduous”declared the president of the CBG, Luciene Resende.

Who also celebrated the Brazilian achievement was the Minister of Sports, André Fufuca: “It is with great pride that we can say that Brazil has won the right to host the 2025 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup, which will be held in the Marvelous City, Rio de Janeiro. January. We will show, in the figures of our gymnasts, all the grandeur, dedication and competence of Brazilian women”.
