Richarlison dreams of Ancelotti in charge of the Brazilian national team

The CBF does not hide its desire to wait for whatever it takes to have coach Carlo Ancelotti in charge of the Brazilian team. In Richarlison’s opinion, the coach is the right person to rescue the morale of the national team after another fall in the quarterfinals of a World Cup.

The Tottenham striker has already worked under the direction of Real Madrid’s Italian at Everton and does not spare praise for the “friend” with whom he exchanged messages and calls recently.

“Ancelotti is a guy who won everything in Europe. For sure, if he comes, if he’s here, he’ll help us a lot, we’ll be fighting for everything”, bets Richarlison, remembering the time when he was led by the coach. “At Everton I felt like a phenomenon in his hands, I started scoring non-stop. At the end of the game he took me home, I felt like I was his son”, he reveals, at the same time that he is a little uncomfortable with this delay in choosing a new commander.

“A little difficult (this situation). We want to start preparing as soon as possible, because we know how difficult a World Cup is. We want to work hard, with a fixed coach to get his characteristics, to know what he wants, but we don’t have what to do. We want to listen and wait for the president (Ednaldo Rodrigues), see what he will decide”, he evades, trying to maintain concentration in the friendly with Guinea, this Saturday (17), in Barcelona.

Because of the game in Spain, a possible interest from Real Madrid was the subject of Richarlison’s press conference. He tried to deny that he could be Benzema’s replacement. “Ancelotti trained me at Everton and we talk a lot. These days I called him, I was with Vini, but it’s just friendship”, he says “Every player wants to wear the shirt of Real Madrid, the biggest club in the world. I dream, but I have a club, a contract and I have to show it because they bought me for a high price. This season went downhill, I suffered with injuries, and I still have to show it with the Tottenham shirt.”

Questioned in the Brazilian national team, the player used his performance as a shield and hit hard with critics. “When I wear the national team’s shirt I feel different, more prepared, so to speak, so everything starts to flow on the pitch. I score a lot of goals here with the national team. Everyone can contest it, but when I wear the shirt I can handle it.”

Trained by Ancelotti at Real Madrid, striker Rodrygo also did not escape the subject. And he said it would be interesting if he manages to be both at the Meringue club and in charge of the national team. “It’s difficult because he has a contract for next season with Real Madrid. But we continue to trust the CBF president a lot and we’ll see what happens.”

About the work of the current commander in Spain, he also believes that the Brazilian team would improve a lot. “He would add a lot because he brings that winning mentality. Ancelotti knows how to work well in the locker room.”
