After the 2-1 victory over Avenida, which guaranteed the leadership of the Campeonato Gaúcho to Guild, Renato Portaluppi fired at the Gaucho Football Federation (FGF). The coach made several criticisms about the opponent’s facilities, mainly focusing on the condition of the pitch.

“It’s not possible for the Federation to charge the Gre-Nal duo, we arrive here, the dressing room is horrible, the pitch is horrible, the lighting is horrible. Soon there will be a player signed for 4.5 million euros who gets injured in a field like this and stays idle for a long time. The Federation has to worry at least about the pitch, where the players will enter and put on a show. Few comment on the pitch. It is very difficult to compete in the state championship, and my patience has a limit. While It’s working, let’s go, soon we can change our minds”, he said.

The coach also took the opportunity to highlight the national calendar. “The difficulties are normal, I don’t want to be repetitive, but eight, 10 days of pre-season, problems in the medical department, bad pitch, it’s our championship, so we need to go through the difficulties. There’s no point in trying to demand good football. We have achieved the victories that give us leadership”, he said.

Despite the conditions discussed by Renato, Grêmio defeated Avenida 1-0, with a goal from striker Nathan Fernandes, Soteldo’s replacement, who is in the club’s medical department.

With the victory, Grêmio leads the Campeonato Gaúcho with 12 points, two more than its arch-rival, Internacional. The club’s next match is against Novo Hamburgo, in a duel scheduled for this Tuesday, at 9:30 pm, at Arena do Grêmio, in Porto Alegre, for the sixth round.
